Using Slideshare to create portable playlists

I promised in an earlier post to expand a little on slideshare, the ‘YouTube of presentation slides’. As a repository, slideshare has enabled me to store, tag, and access over sixty presentations in the last three years. Embedding is simple. Now there’s a number of ways of displaying playlists of presentations – either your own through personal tags or public presentations tagged for a particular topic.

Here’s a course presentation pack for the unit ‘Social Change in late modernity‘:

Not only is that easily embedded over a number of different platforms, slideshare also allows the embedding and presentation of other document types – potentially a complete course/unit could be ‘packed’ in this way. Useful.
