Making the familiar unfamiliar

Here’s a video that’s been doing the rounds lately (over 500,000 views in the last couple of weeks) showing how the familiar (the English language) can be made to appear unfamiliar (the English language as it would sound if you didn’t speak it.

There’s a version for American English made by the Italian singer/songwriter Adriano Celentano:

Roberto Benigni, the Italian (genius) comedian, does something similar in the film Johnny Stecchino. It’s brilliant but  … I can’t find the clip. Of course you could watch the whole film (it’s very funny) and then let me know where it is. I’d like to clip it for this collection.
