All the Pretty Horses: The Border Trilogy Volume 1

This is such a good read. Less sparse than ‘The Road’ but with a rhythm that has me running through the pages with enormous pleasure. After 100 pages John O’Grady has become an epic character in an epic story set in epic country. Cormac McCarthy’s prose is fierce – even the silences spit. If you haven’t already, you really should read this one! I’m going back to it right now.
